Directions

From the starting point in Niedermehnen, the route leads along the eastern side of the Stemweder Berg through the villages of Wehdem and Oppendorf across the Westphalian border into neighboring Lower Saxony to Lake Dümmer. The lake is a breeding and resting place for many bird species, with thousands of cranes resting in the region in spring and fall. The second half of the tour leads through Hüde and Lemförde on the north and west sides of the mountain back to Dielingen in Westphalia. You now return to the starting point via Drohne, Arrenkamp and Westrup on farm roads with little traffic.
